The province of Terni
is situated in the very middle of Italy and it is, therefore, within easy reach
thanks to an efficent railways service and a well-run motorway network. It takes
50 minutes to reach Rome and 70 minutes to reach Florence. In the territory
of the province there are two lakes (Piediluco and Corbara lakes), five rivers
(Tevere, Nera, Velino, Paglia and Chiani) a waterfall (Marmore), an oasis (Alviano),and
two regional parks. This land boasts a wonderful landscape made of lovely hills,
marvellous woodland, lush and charming valleys, as well as hermitages, abbeys,
fortresses, castles, towers and medieval villages. There are also plots of land
full of olive trees and wines which offer two of the most precious local products:
D.O.C. wine and D.O.P. olive oil. To be also mentioned are the local people,
well know for being extremely friendly and hospitable. A place where technology
and modernity have never affected the real values of human life.
